Harriet Steward

Harriet is currently in her first year of Health and Social Care at Riseholme College. She first learned about the college during a careers advisor meeting at school and knew she wanted to continue her education in a supportive environment that wasn’t overwhelmingly big.

With aspirations of becoming a paramedic or nurse, Harriet saw this course as the perfect stepping stone, offering a wide range of career opportunities in healthcare. While transitioning from school to college felt like a big step, she quickly felt welcomed and at ease at Riseholme and is grateful she took the leap.

Harriet describes the college atmosphere as positive and uplifting, with friendly, approachable tutors and students who create a supportive learning environment. One of her favourite parts of the course has been studying the Ages and Stages of Development unit, which she has found particularly engaging.

Looking ahead, Harriet is considering continuing her studies at university to further her career in healthcare.
