Lucy Barnicoat

Lucy is currently in her second year of studying Health and Social Care. Before joining this course, she completed a year of A-levels elsewhere but realised it wasn’t the right fit for her. After exploring her options, she found Riseholme College to be the ideal place to continue her studies.

Lucy was drawn to the course because of its perfect balance of classroom learning and practical placements, allowing her to gain real-world experience. She particularly enjoys the variety of topics covered, from anatomy to psychology, making every day different and engaging.

With multiple opportunities to gain hands-on experience, Lucy is thrilled with her decision to study at Riseholme. She finds the course both insightful and rewarding, especially during her placements in educational settings, where she has had the opportunity to shadow a SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator).

After college, Lucy plans to take a gap year to explore the many opportunities this course has opened up for her, before deciding on her next steps in the healthcare field.
