Applications for accommodation open in November for the following academic year. We continue to take applications until the accommodation is full, at which point we open a waiting list in case anyone changes their mind.
We operate an allocation policy, with first-year students having priority if they:
- Have early morning duties as part of their course
- Live at least 20 miles from Riseholme College
Our student accommodation is open throughout term times but is closed during college breaks such as Christmas, Easter and over the summer between academic years.
At the weekends, the campus may be quieter. However, we run various activities, trips and social events for those students who choose not to go home at weekends.
Each room comes with furniture such as a bed, desk and wardrobe.
All of the kitchens have a fridge, kettle, toaster and microwave. Students must provide their own crockery. Small tabletop fridges are allowed in your room, but no additional cooking equipment is permitted.
You must provide your own bedding – bottom sheet, duvet and cover, pillow and case, and towels. You are permitted to bring in equipment such as a radio or TV providing it doesn't disrupt others. Please note if you bring a TV you will need your own TV licence.
Our friendly team of wardens are there to support you. Whether they're organising evening activities, helping with transport to the supermarket or you just need someone to talk to.
Your student ID also acts as your food card, so you don't need to carry anything else around with you.
As a resident, you will be half-board, which means you will be given £1,000 towards food. This money acts as an allowance towards your total food purchases whilst living at Riseholme College.
The money is divided into three termly allowances of £400 for each of terms one and two, and £200 for term three. You can top up to add more money online.
Yes, you can! All incoming student mail is distributed by our housekeepers.
If you decide to withdraw from/are removed from accommodation due to disciplinary action before the end of the academic year, you will still be required to pay the accommodation fee for the remainder of the year unless your room is re-let to a student who is not already residential.
