As a university level student at Riseholme, you will also have access to a range of resources to ensure that you can create a positive career.

This includes:

• Employability workshops
• Careers resources on iLearn (our virtual learning environment)
• Regular employer and networking events
• Industry-specific lectures with guest speakers
• Support with working through the Office for Students’ (OfS) online graduate employment and skills guide, which sets out five important steps to help you think about your choices and what you’d like to do next

Professional and employability skills

We work closely with our employer network to understand the professional and 'soft skills' that they seek in graduates, embedding these into our programmes so that you are career ready. These skills include:

• Readiness for employment: Including digital skills and how to interact professionally.
• Equality and diversity: Supporting people from all backgrounds and characteristics to develop secure and sustainable success in the workplace.
  
• Global perspective: How your sector is informed by the worldwide developments and how you can succeed in a global society in the workplace.
  
• Life coaching: Our Life Coaches are here to help you to unlock your true potential. They'll work with you to recognise and overcome any barriers. Think of them as your secret pass to success.

Careers guidance

You will have access to a high-quality careers education, information, advice and guidance (CEIAG) through a range of activities to help you make informed choices.

We will help you to plan and manage your personal progression and career planning. This includes impartial advice and guidance at key transitional times and to access up-to-date information on careers and other issues affecting students’ wellbeing and continuation in education.

Our impartial careers guidance is available through face-to-face appointments, email, online meetings, our student portal iLearn and, frequently, via the delivery of in-class presentations and workshops.
